:: What We Do

We have noticed that most stuff is not created with quality in mind. Most companies are also more concerned with making a profit than a well-designed quality product.

We want to make products that are the very best you can get. With the highest quality in mind, the products we make are based on things we are interested in. For example, we are all avid bicyclists at ODD and we have some cool ideas for bicycle gear. So what you get is the combination of our passions with the drive and ability to create very high quality products.

We are also different in that we come up with all our own ideas, design and engineer them, build them, sell them and support them. We also tend to design with form follows function in mind; we design so our things work well and this creates a certain aesthetic. We are three good friends making some good stuff.

:: One Drop Philosophy

Why did we choose to call ourselves One Drop Design? The answer to this question is also a reflection of our business philosophy.

The "one drop" is a classic roots drum beat. It is the exact opposite of a standard "western" drum beat. It's simple to play technically but to play it well requires great feel and soul. In this, we found the basis of our business. Just like the "one drop" puts it's accent in a completely unexpected place, we too, do things differently than expected. While our products are technically very sound, the most important thing you'll notice is the way they feel; you'll know that they are crafted by people who have put their heart and soul into them.

You're supporting craftsmen who design and build locally. None or our products, tools, supplies, or equipment are purchased overseas.

We don't follow traditional business methods; we keep things simple, business does not have to be complicated.
